indeedy do

note: may contain nothing but claptrap.

i woke up yesterday to the bang on our apartment door. urgh, fuck you. i needed this late wake up. it's the beginning of spring break. i swear i wore my hideous morning face with a little disgust at the unexpected visitor. then this mail guy chirpily shouted HELLO and the awake-meter shot up to its maximum level. this delivery better be mine. it's from daddy. to add the collection of birthday cards this year. such a beautiful morning.

my back-to-back classes ended at 1:30 on Friday, so i went for hair trimming afterwards. the head definitely feels lighter with the hair being thinned. sayonara split ends! you were not a good companion but have definitely filled up my time whenever i space out in class. plucking out split ends is... challenging.

i had two hours before meeting up with the girls. i found myself buried at the bookstore. the sales banner outside was an eye-catcher. how can i resist five bucks worth of hardcover books? paced myself downstairs and locked my eyes immediately at the sales corner. just one, maybe. i ended up buying three. well i was taught not to be hesitant (berkira i meant to say) by my parents when it comes to books. "it's an investment", as i remember how joyful my weekly visit was to the bookstore back in Malaysia.

eventually, i was left getting lost in the cynical world of Kurt Vonnegut. it was a steal; his 'Armageddon in Retrospect' fits nicely to the warm introduction i had of his work last semester. then i came across Margaret Atwood before bumping into Nuzhat Kazmi's 'Islamic Art'. i thought it'd be sweet for mom. the content doesn't interest me, of course, but the pictures do clarify the beauty of Islamic Art. i could hear my ears ringing with mom's rambling. she speaks art so fluent that she comes out speaking alien language when she starts feeding me with ridiculous names, or facts. when i got home, i was greeted with a parcel. ah it's from Liyana, who else if not her; who knows just how to cheer me up.

such a booky day i thought.
