of candles and a dance

There’s this inexplicable empathy, which drowns you – body and soul – each time you depart. The absence of her heart, the vacancy of his attention, and the air she inhales while he exhales. This departure that you secretly acknowledged when you first say hello but as time goes by it dwindles. There’s this inexplicable empathy that only you and me walk on, sleep in, and dream about.

For now before then, it pierces through my desire.
